Overview

The Public Works Department provides for the operation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure systems. The Public Works Department consists of multiple divisions which include Water & Sewer, Streets, Wastewater Reclamation, Snow removal, Storm Water, and Public Works Administration. Twenty-seven fulltime employees and one part-time employee provide the department's service delivery in order to reach the mission of operating and maintaining the infrastructure systems in the most fiscally responsible fashion, while protecting public safety and maximizing customer satisfaction.

Watermains to be Flushed — 9/1/2010
Watermains in Faribault will be flushed the week of October 5 - October 8, 2010 on four seperate nights, weather pending.
Compost Site — 8/16/2010
The Faribault Compost Site located at 214 N.E. 14th Street will be closed on Wednesdays beginning August 25th, due to construction at the facility. Hours of operation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Land Disturbance Manual — 7/8/2010
The City of Faribault Land Disturbance Manual gives guidance to contractors, developers and builders for proper erosion and sediment controls for grading projects within the City. It includes erosion control ordinance and grading permit general information, grading plan review procedures; permit application and grading plan requirements and lists other possible permits required for certain projects. The Land Disturbance Manual also contains permanent stormwater treatment options, treatment requirements near impaired waters, construction and buffering requirements around wetlands, temporary sediment pond guidelines and park grading requirements.
