Overview
The Public Works Department provides for the operation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure systems. The Public Works Department consists of multiple divisions which include Water & Sewer, Streets, Wastewater Reclamation, Snow removal, Storm Water, and Public Works Administration. Twenty-seven fulltime employees and one part-time employee provide the department's service delivery in order to reach the mission of operating and maintaining the infrastructure systems in the most fiscally responsible fashion, while protecting public safety and maximizing customer satisfaction.

- The City of Faribault as a community public water system is required to delineate, inventory, and manage an inner wellhead management zone. Part 1 of a Wellhead Protection Plan Amendment involves re-delineation of the wellhead protection area and drinking water supply management area, as well as an assessment of the well(s) vulnerability.
