Fire Department

Welcome to the online resource for the Faribault (MN) Fire Department. We are a combination department with 9 full time and 24 part-time firefighters, along with the Fire Chief and a department secretary.

Department Organization

The personnel are divided into 3 shifts with 1 captain, 2 full-time firefighters and 10 part-time firefighters assigned to each shift.
The Faribault Fire Department operates out of 1 fire station. We protect our community of 23,352, an additional 4,422 in the surrounding townships and the numerous visitors to our area with the following equipment:

  • 2 engines
  • 1 75-foot aerial ladder
  • 1 heavy-rescue truck
  • 1 rural tender
  • 2 pick-up trucks
The department has 3 full-time personnel per shift, with a minimum of 2 firefighters working 24 hour shifts. The officer-in-charge of the "on-duty shift" is the Incident Commander for all emergency calls. That person has the option to respond with the on-duty personnel, request a "shift call", which is all off duty, full-time firefighters and 10 part-time firefighters, or an "all call", which pages all Fire Department personnel.
